Meanwhile, Signe Grube, the Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, highlighted that every civilian who comes to Latvia is registered in the Register of Support for the Support for the Support of the Ukrainian Civil Population. « Accordingly, the employees of the relevant municipality are responsible for any resident on its territory, » Grube said.

The Commission agreed on Wednesday that it would send requests to several authorities and ministries affecting the stay of Ukrainian civilians in Latvia. The Ministry of Transport is preparing to ask the Saeima commission whether and how the technical condition of the car registration numbers in Latvia is monitored. The State Employment Agency will be asked how many Ukrainian civilians are employed in Latvia and whether it has information on Ukrainians employed in the shadow economy in Latvia.

MEPs did not yet see what to turn to more than 2,000 Ukrainian children, but stressed that this issue was important.

The government last year -approved plan for support for Ukrainian residents has said that more than 32,000 Ukrainian people have been registered in Latvia to receive assistance from the municipalities, while since February 24, 2022 more than 69,000 Ukrainians have issued a temporary residence permit and long -term disa.

In mid -April this year there were more than 30,000 Ukrainian people with a valid temporary defense status in Latvia. In 2024, on average, 450-500 Ukrainian residents were registered in Latvia per month, who were granted temporary defense status.
