In the glory of great actress: an exhibition of photographs « Olivera Markovic on the scene of the National Theater » (photo) – Culture

The author of the exhibition Mirjana Odavić expressed hope that the audience would be able to get the impression of how much Olivera was a great actress, « writes Seecult.org

The President of the Management Board of the NP Filip Bojić pointed out the importance of the exhibition because the presented photographs testify about large roles that Olivera Markovic played on the national theater scene.

« The memory of her talent lives. She was a versatile stake. The new generations could see her films and television drama series. Unfortunately, there were few recordings of her plays, » Bojic pointed out.

Quoting Oliver Markovic from one interview from 1980. year, he said « the theater for her – love, music – pleasure, film and television brought her popularity, but still in the theater made its biggest roles. »

Mentioning her career in the Belgrade Drama Theater, and a cried of Markovic, according to the available data, the only actress that played home roles in two notes that are a trademark of national theater and « bone » Boors Minister Branislav Nušića.

The exceptional roles also achieved in the classical repertoire, in the plays of Paola « Ms. Olga » Milutin Bojenović, in the cultural play « when they flourished » Learned Women « Jagoša Marković and » Women’s Orchestra  » Petra Zeca, he reminded the Bojic.

Drama artist Tihomir Stanic He said he had the pleasure of playing with Oliver Markovic in the « Women’s Orchestra ».

« She loved playing in the National Theater. It was a question of the prestige (GDP), and she was always a dream, but she had been playing here, although she was already in the years, » said Goran Markovic.

Oliver Markovic’s theater opus counts more than a hundred role, 36 of which are on the national theater scene.

In the accompanying catalog, testimonies of colleagues and derivation of criticism, according to which Olivera Markovic was a charming, unobtrusive actress of exceptional strengths and emotional states, always in line with the acting task, loyal and grateful partner.

Her acting spell was in a natural gift to find real emotions for suffering and joy, to be convincing, radiating from the scene. She was an artist with a sense of interpreting and testifying about the time in which she lives, to say to the man, defending him, why she was the old men and audience and criticism.
