In the Dnipropetrovsk region, fraudsters were cheated by relatives of the missing soldiers for 3 million UAH

In Dnipropetrovsk, law enforcement officers reported suspicion of fraud to three participants of the organized group, who, according to the investigation, exposed almost 3 million hryvnias in relatives of Ukrainian soldiers who disappeared or captured.

Details: According to the investigation, the attackers sought an announcement of missing persons or captives of the Armed Forces on social networks. Then they contacted their relatives through messengers and offered them « help » in their return from captivity or treatment.

For these services, fraudsters demanded a cash reward, which the victims were transferred to bank cards controlled.

At this point, law enforcement officers have installed 14 victims from different regions of Ukraine. During the searches, the suspects seized mobile phones, documents, cash and bank cards.

All three defendants were suspected under Part 5 of Art. 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – fraud, committed in a particularly large size in the organized group. They have chosen precautions.
