In Texas Papastavrou – The Revelation in OT Forum for Hydrocarbons

Interested investors are commercially available data packages, seismic – geophysical surveys and drilling data, such as:
- Extensive two-dimensional seismic survey of 12,500 kilometers of seismic lines (+gravitational and magnetic data) covering the northern and central Ionian Sea, and the marine area south of Crete carried out by PGS (2012-2014) and underwent rebooting in 2018.
- 9,700 kilometers of historical seismic lines (1960-1990) which were reprocessed (2014), and 10,855 kilometers (partially overlapping) historical seismic lines that have been prepared.
- 12.727 kilometers of 2D seismics, collected by IFREMER during various research missions, covering the central and southern Ionian Sea, and the sea area south of Crete.
The Papastavrou Agenda in Texas

On Thursday, May 8, the Greek delegation will visit the Chevron facilities, where it will meet the president of the Chevron International Exploitation and Production, Mr. Clay Neff, and Chevron’s Vice -President of Chevron’s Vice President of Global Exploration.
In terms of ExxonMobil, the minister will go to its headquarters on Friday, May 9, where it will talk to Global Exploration, Mr John Ardill, focusing on discussions and ExxonMBIL’s prospects for Greece and the Eastern Mediterranean and Eastern Mediterranean.
The information wants the ministry’s leadership to also ask ExxonMobil information on the time of the investment decision to conduct the first research drilling in the sea block « southwest of Crete ». It is noted that the American multinational has research and exploitation rights for the concession « west of Crete ».
According to reports, the Minister of Environment and Energy with the argument of the rapid completion and issue of the three ministerial decisions (in one month) as well as the announcement of a single competition for the four marine blocks will seek to obtain Chevron commitments on the forthcoming seismic investigations.
Appointment and with Cheniere Energy
Papastavrou will also visit Ceniere Energy, the first USA with the largest production of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and the second largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) provider in the world.
The Minister is reportedly investigating a possible interest in Ceniere’s interest in LNG sales development in the EU. through Greece.
The geopolitical dimension of Papastavrou visit
The minister on the trip to Houston is accompanied by Deputy Minister of Energy Nikos Tsafos and EDEP CEO Aris Stefatos.
The Greek delegation seeks to geopolitically exploit Chevron and ExxonMobil by reinforcing the alliance with the US. On Saturday, May 10, the minister will meet Mr Randy Weber, a member of the US House of Representatives and Vice -President of the Subcommittee.
