In Russia, the number of « drunken » accidents – Kommersant is reduced
The number of accidents with drivers in a state of intoxication decreased by 15.9% (to 2 thousand incidents) from the beginning of the year compared to the same period of 2024. Of these, 209 accidents occurred with the participation of drivers under the influence of drugs. Reporting from January to April 2025 was published by the State traffic inspectorate of Russia.
The leaders in the number of “drunk” accidents were: Krasnodar Territory (105 accidents), Nizhny Novgorod (81) and Voronezh (70) regions, Krasnoyarsk (65) and Perm (62) regions. Most of the dead due to an accident involving drunken drivers were recorded in the Krasnodar Territory (36), the Moscow Region (24), the Trans-Baikal Territory (21), the Nizhny Novgorod (19) and the Novosibirsk (19) regions.
At the same time, according to the traffic police, an accident has increased by 26.2% with the participation of mopeds and vehicles equated to them (including with electric scooters with engines with a capacity of 0.25, they are considered mopeds). The number of congresses from roads increased by 22.5%, by 12.7% – the number of overturning, by 12.3% – cyclists.
The overall level of accident rate since the beginning of the year, according to the traffic police of Russia, has remained about the same as in the first four months of 2024. In total, 33.3 thousand accidents (growth +0.6%) occurred, 3.5 thousand people (–3%) were killed, 42 thousand people were injured ( +0.5%)
