In November she was still a mum of first child, now Nihal (37) died after fighting terminal cancer: « Her soul has now found peace » (Antwerp)

Nihal Taplak (37) gave birth to her first child in November 2024, a month later cancer was diagnosed with her. According to her medical report, the young mama only left palliative care, but Nihal remained combative. On Thursday morning the family on Instagram announced that the Antwerpse has died with Turkish roots. « We find comfort in the belief that her suffering is now over. »

« With sadness but also with surrender to Allah, we share that Nihal has returned to her Creator, » writes Nihal’s family in an Instagram story. The young mom inspired many with her hope and courage, which she said she loved from her son Isa.

On November 20, after a three -day birth, the young teacher gave birth to her first child. After the birth, Nihal had breathing problems and trouble walking. A scan showed that she had a lot of moisture around her lungs and ribs. After three intensive operations, the moisture was removed. Tissue samples were taken. « Three pathologists confirmed that it was malignant cells: I had cancer, » the young mama told us a month ago.

Her life turned into a nightmare in one fell swoop. Not much later a brain tumor was also established, which was successfully removed. Chemotherapy was continued for cancer cells in its lungs. Nihal was diagnosed with a rare, aggressive and still difficult to classify cancer, presumably a Pleiomorf carcinoma. « Soon the term ‘palliative’ fell, and that touched me deeply, » said the Antwerp.

Crowdfunding

But Nihal and her family never gave up. A crowdfunding was started for investigations and treatments abroad. People could also offer moral support or help via e -mail. « We are looking for stories from people in similar situations and for possible solutions or connections with specialists, also internationally, » said Nihal at the end of April. « I tell my story, because I want to emphasize that there is often giving up in Belgium too quickly. »

« On behalf of her family and friends, thank you for any form of support. We never forget that warmth, » says on Instagram. « Nihal will keep a place in our hearts forever. »
