In Livani, police find more than 900 grams of drugs / day at two men
Last Saturday, May 24, officials of the Investigation Department of the North Latgale District were detained by two persons born in Livani in the unlawful circulation of drugs in 1999 and 2003.
During the search, law enforcement officers found 718 grams of amphetamine and 220 grams of marijuana. Law enforcers also seized three pills containing psychotropic substances, as well as cell phone and car.
The two detainees had previously been caught by the police.
Both persons have initiated criminal proceedings under Article 253.1, Paragraph one of the Criminal Law, namely the unauthorized production, acquisition, possession, transportation or transfer of narcotic or psychotropic substances for the purposes of realization or for the unauthorized implementation of narcotic or psychotropic substances. This is a penalty of two to eight years’ imprisonment, with or without confiscation of property, and probation supervision for up to three years.
The police recall that no person is considered guilty until his or her fault is proven in accordance with the law.
