In Latgale, one person has been detained for deliberate delay in fulfilling electoral rights / day
A total of 43 different signals of possible violations have responded to the VP on Election Day, of which 20 of which have been initiated by administrative violation processes, as well as one criminal proceedings and two persons have been detained in total.
In other cases, the information has not been confirmed or continued, including in cooperation with the National Security Service (VDD).
LETA has already written that criminal proceedings have been initiated for a case in Preili county, Riebiņi, where a person voted twice using another identity documents. Recent police information indicates that the person has been detained and the criminal proceedings are qualified under the Criminal Law Article for deliberate delaying the person to exercise the election rights.
Almost all administrative violation processes have been initiated for violations of pre -election campaigning rules, which will be referred to the Office for the Prevention and Combating of Corruption. In three cases, administrative violation processes for disruption of the work of public peace and polling station were initiated. In one of these cases, there is also a detained person.
Although some irregularities have been detected, overall, the election day was held in the police without significant incidents.
It has already been reported that municipal elections in general have also been calmly in the evaluation of the VDD and there have been no Russian attempts to influence results.
During the pre -election period and on the day of the local elections, on the day of 7:30 pm, he has not initiated criminal proceedings on suspicion of buying so -called votes or affecting the choice of voters in another illegal manner. At the same time, the service is still continuing to check multiple signals for possible violations.
During the pre -election period and until 7:30 pm, the SFS has identified a total of 87 so -called signals of possible unlawful activities that could affect the election results. Most of the service obtained is about buying votes as well as the influence of voters in another way.
Most signals have already been checked by the service without confirming the unlawful actions. At the same time, some of the inspections of the VDD are still ongoing, including in the assessment of several cases, in closely cooperation with the State Police.
In addition, the service has received 23 reports of alleged violations, which are reviewed by other authorities. The information obtained by the VDD has forwarded to the partner authorities – the State Police and the Corruption Prevention and Combating Bureau – for further evaluation.
Similarly, as a result of the inspections carried out so far, the Service has identified in several polling stations in non -essential violations of the election procedure in Latvia, which was immediately eliminated in cooperation with the polling station commissions.
On Saturday, local elections were held throughout Latvia. Voting in a total of 948 districts all over Latvia was open until 8 pm.
