In Kurzeme and Zemgale there will be an intangible cultural heritage transfer event to meet your master! / Day
In various regions in Kurzeme there will be the opportunity to learn the weaving of the zedene fence, participate in the opening of ceramic kiln, and to explore the tradition of gloves. Masters will teach Suiti belt weaving and scarf making on the frame, get to know the amber processing and participate in various culinary heritage master classes: water baking, sarcut cooking, exploring the preparation of the Spare Manor’s crowd from ancient recipe books and much more.
In Zemgale regions and Jelgava, those interested will explore a variety of handicrafts, including gloves and sock knitting traditions, and will make puzzles. You will be able to participate in the construction of an outdoor bread stove and get to know the ancient baking techniques of bread. Classes will provide a unique experience for both beginners and those who want to deepen their skills.
In the next weekends Meet your master! Will lead to Vidzeme and Selonia on April 12 and 13, after Easter, April 26 and 27, the event will take place in Riga and Latgale.

The event jointly organized by the Latvian National Culture Center, local governments and craftsmen Meet your master! The essence is to highlight people who have inherited and preserved ancient skills from generation to generation, and to promote the participation of the general public in preserving Latvia’s intangible cultural heritage. The form of the event is free – masterpieces, individual classes, open workshops, demonstrations, lectures, lectures, concerts and dances are organized.
