In Israeli attacks 16 dead, including three children
Six people were killed at night air attacks in the Kan Junis area (southern part of Gaza’s belt), said Mahmud Basal, a spokesman for the rescue service. Two of them were in a tent in Abasan, and four others, including two boys aged five and two, were in an apartment in Al-Mavasia.
Civil protection later reported about ten other killed in an attack on the tent in Al-Mavasia, stating that they were killed by a child and seven women.
The Israeli army could not immediately comment on this information for AFP.
However, according to a military statement posted on Sunday morning, the army has « attacked more than 100 terrorist goals throughout the gauze belt in the past two days. » The text is added that the soldiers who acted in the south of Palestinian territory found « weapons warehouses » and killed « several terrorists ».
The Israeli army continued the bombing and offensive on Gaza’s belt on March 18, ending a two -month truce with a hamas in the war that launched an unprecedented attack by the Palestinian Islamist movement on South Israel on October 7, 2023.
In the attack, 1218 people were killed on the Israeli side, mostly civilians, according to AFP data based on official data.
Of the 251 people abducted that day, 58 were still detained in Gaza, including 34 that the Israeli army was declared dead.
On March 2, Israel interrupted all the humanitarian aid in that territory, accusing Hamas of diverting it. Israel claims that the complete blockade is intended to press the Islamist movement to release all the hostages it holds.
Since then, the UN unsuccessfully invites Israel to reope the territory of humanitarian aid, which is vital to the population faced with a dramatic humanitarian situation and exposed to hunger, UN officials said.
The Israeli retaliation campaign for the attack on October 7th left at least 52,535 dead in the Gaza’s belt, mostly civilians, according to the Hamas Ministry of Health, which the UN considers reliable.
