Raf D. from Kampenhout, who forced more than thirty minor girls to make nude recordings of themselves, received six years of effective imprisonment, and for five years of provision. The public prosecutor had demanded seven years.
The case occurred on Friday, April 4 in Brussels. The room was then full of the parents of the teenage girls who had fallen victim to Raf D a year and a half ago. The man had spent himself on Snapchat for a teenager, after which he convinced dozens of girls to take a challenging photo of himself. Once they had caught up, he turned out to have stored the images. He then blackmailed his victims – the youngest was barely 10 years old – to continue and make nude images of himself. According to the public prosecutor, at least three girls were also raped « remotely » by the twenties.
The prosecutor demanded seven years in prison, because of the seriousness of the infringement and because the risk of recidivism with Raf D. would be « towering ». Elise Galoppin, lawyer of the defendant, then argued for a « fair punishment », coupled with partial postponement. The verdict fell on Friday: the defendant received effective prison for six years and made it for five years.
