In France, Cadbury finger reappears on the shelves – Liberation
In October, Liberty had revealed information that had saddened snack enthusiasts. The famous Finger, the small chocolate cookie, were no longer available in stores. It is an English flagship product from the 80s and 90s that disappeared from France without its manufacturer communicating.
The reasons for this withdrawal are still vague today: probably a new distribution of markets between Mondelez France (which did not produce and distribute this brand and which on the other hand, very similar Choco Sticks Milka) and Cadbury, belonging to the British branch of the World Agrifood Giant.
Good news for those who swear by original finger and who were on the verge of depression: we learned Tuesday April 1 in Le Figaro That the Cadburys were going to be available again on the shelves of certain supermarkets, including Carrefour and those of the Casino group.
The Eric Bur group, specializing in delicatessen and importing products not available in France, has found an intermediary to relaunch the machine. It replaces the previous Lightbody Europe distributor, and will offer the finger in their usual box as well as those with salted and orange caramel, still unpublished tastes. The cookies will be sold in their English box (with the list of ingredients in French). « There is a fairly important love ratingindicates Férreol de Bony, managing director of Eric Bur. I hope that we will not be too overwhelmed by success. ”
For those who wish to buy them, at 2.90 euros per box of 114 grams, the finger will be twice as expensive as before and should be available from mid-April on the « product of the world » shelves, not with the other cookies. Unlike Cadbury’s « Nibbly Fingers », sold in sachets, offered by another importer, just to add to the confusion for the consumer. Fortunately, as they are twice small, it has nothing to do with it.
