In France, a 29-year-old woman was killed in the gym during a cryotherapy session, who was pitying as a result of nitrogen leakage. Another victim is currently in intensive care.

The accident happened on the evening of April 14 at one of the sports centers in Paris, report The Guardian and France24.

It is currently known that the gym worker has lost consciousness through the leakage of nitrogen from a cryomer camera, which was repaired earlier on the same day. This gas without color and odor is used to create an atmosphere of extreme sub -free temperatures.

A 34-year-old visitor of the sports complex was also injured and hospitalized.

Three other people tried to save women, however, they were also poisoned and sent to the hospital. At the arrival of doctors, 150 people were evacuated from the building.

Police and inspectors are currently finding out the causes of the incident.

« To establish the exact cause of death, corpses and toxicological analysis will be performed« , – said the spokesman of the Paris Prosecutor’s Office.

Cryotherapy is a technique that is especially popular with athletes to reduce muscle pain and to improve blood circulation.

Under the influence of temperature below zero, adrenaline and endorphins are released for two to three minutes, and the heart works faster. At this point, the body accelerates tissue repair, and muscle pain decreases.

Modern cryotherapy often involves the use of liquid nitrogen or nitrogen oxide. To do this, special cabins are equipped.

This is not the first tragic incident associated with cryotherapy. In 2015, in Las Vegas, a 24-year-old woman froze in a cryotherapy chamber at a spa. She entered the post -working time and only the next day was discovered by a colleague.
