In April, as many as 18.4 percent more overnights than last year, the most are tourists in Istria. Leading Germans

In April, commercial accommodation facilities came in 1.2 million tourists, which generated 3.3 million overnight stays, which is 14.8 and 18.4 percent more than last April, the data of the Central Bureau of Statistics (DZS).

In the total nights of April, foreign tourists in commercial accommodation facilities have made 85.5 percent or 2.8 million overnight stays, which is 21.6 percent more than in April last year, while their 956,000 arrivals are growing of 17.5 percent.

Domestic tourists came to these facilities 228 thousand or 4.6 percent more, while 477 thousand overnight stays are 2.6 percent compared to last year.

In April 2025. Tourists gave the hotel accommodation, achieving a total of 1.5 million overnight stays in it, which accounts for 45.9 percent of the total overnight stays in commercial accommodation. Compared to April 2024, tourists nights in hotels are higher by 11 percent.

The second most commonly selected type of accommodation was rooms, apartments, studio-apartments and holiday homes, which realized 968 thousand nights, or 29.5 percent of the total nights in commercial accommodation. In this type of accommodation, compared to April 2024, a rise was made by 22.5 percent.

According to the counties, the most nights were in Istria in April, 997 thousand, while among the destinations the most sought after was Zagreb with 41,000 nights.

Among foreign tourists the most nights in the commercial accommodation in April were achieved by the Germans. They generated 532 thousand nights, which is 48.4 percent more than last April. According to the number of overnight stays, followed by Slovenians, Austrians, British, Poles and Italians.

In the first four months of 2025. In commercial accommodation facilities, 2.2 million arrivals and 5.6 million overnight stays were generated, which is 3.6 percent more arrivals and 4.7 percent more tourists over the same period 2024.

Domestic tourists in the first four months of 2025 achieved 681 thousand arrivals and 1.4 million overnight stays, which is 6.4 percent more arrivals and 3.2 percent more nights than in the first four months 2024.

Foreign tourists in the first four months of 2025. They earned 1.5 million arrivals and 4.3 million overnight stays, which is 2.4 percent more arrivals and 5.2 percent more overnight stays compared to the same period last year.
