When Kudratulah – a young man from Jalalabad in southeastern Afghanistan – finished school, most of his friends prepared for college, but he had to stay at home because he was too big to stop in the chair.
« I thoughtfully thought, how can I go to college with this weight? And even if I go to college, I will probably not benefit from him, » he told the BBC.
At that moment in his life, Kudratulah had 216 kilograms.
Despite the fact that he is 180 centimeters high, his waist was 147 centimeters and his body mass index (BMI) – measure weight in relation to height – was 67.
Everything above 30 is considered obese.
But a year ago, Kudratulah entered the weight loss project and transformed in a capable, active and healthy man in just 10 months.
Weight problems
Kudratulah began to goji when he was a teenager.
He became visibly big three years ago when he finished school.
« I’ve never seen anyone in my life who is as fat like me. My life was harder than others. I could not do everyday tasks, while for others it all looked normal for others. »
In Afghanistan, about every eighth man has BMI bigger than 30.
Kurdratulah’s weight classified him in the category of extremely obese and made it difficult for him.
« I didn’t go to mountain walks and I couldn’t swim. I couldn’t do any other activities. Even my most ordinary walk began to represent a problem. »
He depended on Tuk-Tukov to move around.
As a larger passenger occupying more places, they charged an extra ticket.
Finding shoes and clothes also represented a problem.
« They wouldn’t last. They couldn’t endure my weight and, consequently, my wear on clothes was also high. It took nine feet of textiles to make clothes for me, » he said.
His other people were driving and was harassed.
« I tried not to go too much, because people would laugh and spoke everything behind my back. »
Because of his weight, Kurjednah’s health deteriorated.
He got diabetes and had a high cholesterol and high blood pressure.
« I had to put two huge pillows under my head and I would often fall asleep as I sit upright. »
The doctors advised him to lose weight.
Inspiration at home
Kudratulah’s older brother Huoard Khan was also obese, but he managed to reduce oil with 110 kilograms to 70.
Kudratulah thought he could do the same.
He joined the gym and hired the coach who made his diet plan.
Kurdratulah has stopped eating fatty food, rice, carbonated drinks and meat.
He opted for food such as whites, salads, cooked chicken breasts, fish and barley bread.
« It was hard for me to reduce food intake because I ate very much. But I followed my diet and, in the end, I managed to get used to it. » I drank a lot of water too. «
Likewise, he spent even five hours a day at the gym.
Soon his body began to shrink.
In 10 months, Kudratulah lost weight with 216 kilograms at 91, losing more than half of his own body mass – an average of a little more than 400 grams a day.
His circumference decreased to 86 centimeters.
His BMI is 29, which means that it still owns excessive weight, but no longer belongs to obese people.

New self-reliance
Kurdratulah’s parents and six siblings are delighted with this process.

Kudratulah reveals tiny pleasures in life again.
It can use public transport, sit comfortably in tuk-beat, and even to play cricket.
« Now my life is very normal and I am happy for that. »

He wants to study for the paramedics and helping the Father who leads a pharmaceutical company in Nangarhar.

« All my old clothes are useless now, not answering anyone else, » he says.
