Important you respond as soon as possible
A new study conducted by YouGov for Gjensidige shows that every fifth motorist has been driving around with a glass damage in the car for longer than a week, while a full 13 percent have waited over a month to get the damage repaired.
However, a glass damage is a great nuisance to yourself, and thus also at risk to your fellow road users, says Damage Director of Gjensidige, Lene Rasmussen.
« Depending on its size, a glass damage can be a major nuisance to your vision when driving a car. If the glass damage is in the driver’s side, it can be difficult to orient yourself properly in traffic, and it can therefore also endanger your fellow road users. »
Lene Rasmussen therefore has a number of good tips on how to avoid glass damage such as stone strokes in the car.
« A good advice is always to keep a good distance from, for example, trucks, whose large tires can often cause pebbles to jump up on the car window. In addition, it is a good idea to pay attention to the nature of the road and drive according to conditions. If you drive on a dirt road, a lower speed will also minimize the risk of stone strokes. »
She also recalls that glass damage should be repaired as soon as possible so that they do not develop.
« In addition, it is important that you get your stone damage fixed as soon as possible so that it does not run and aggravate your view even more. »
