IMGW warns against sudden weather changes – storms and cool nights
The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMGW) issued warnings of the first degree against frosts and storms for several regions of Poland. The warnings apply to eight voivodships, including Kuyavian-Pomeranian, Łódź and Mazowieckie. Inhabitants of the southern part of the country must prepare for storms with heavy rainfall and wind.
IMGW has released warnings. At night, temperatures dropped significantly
IMGW warns against frosts that can occur at night from Monday to Tuesday. The alerts apply to the Kuyavian-Pomeranian, Łódź, Masovian, Podlasie, Warmian-Masurian, Greater Poland and Pomeranian voivodships. In the West Pomeranian region, the warning was extended to the Wałecki poviat. A temperature drop below 0 degrees Celsius is forecast, with a minimal temperature from -2 to 0 degrees, and with up to -3 degrees.

The southern Polish voivodships, such as Lesser Poland, Podkarpackie and Śląskie, were covered by warnings against storms. IMGW forecasts storms with rainfall up to 25 mm and wind gusts up to 60 km/h. Fine hail is also possible. Storms can also occur in the Sudeten and Sudeten Fundament region, although the chances of their occurrence are small.
Hydrological warnings and IMGW recommendations
IMGW also issued 1st degree hydrological warnings for areas covered by storm allerks. Intensive rainfall can lead to rapid growth of water levels on smaller rivers and local floods, especially in urban areas. The Institute recommends caution and tracking messages about the development of the weather situation, because the conditions can be dangerous to health and life and cause material losses.
