André Ventura’s image at Faro Hospital shared on Facebook, after suffering an esophageal spasm the day before, had more than three million views, having been the largest publication throughout the election campaign.

The data feature a report released this Friday by ISCTE’s Medialab, in partnership with the National Elections Commission (CNE), to monitor misinformation during the election campaign for last Sunday’s legislatives.

In total, the publication of the arrival leader, who appears lying in a hospital bed where a catheter is visible, had 3,322,952 views on the social network Facebook.

The second most popular publication made by a party leader was from Inês Sousa Real, but at a very significant distance from the visualizations achieved by chance. The image of the Pan spokesman next to a cat, both with Sporting scarf, had about 646,000 views.

Another curious fact concerns the most popular publications of other parliamentary leaders. The posts with the most visualizations by Luís Montenegro, Rui Rocha and Nuno Melo are those in which they wanted the improvements to the arrival leader, following the episode of esophageal spasm.

Overall, André Ventura was the most popular leader on social networks during the campaign, recording views five times higher than other leaders and, in some cases, 20 times higher.

In the last week of the campaign alone, the publications of the Leader of the arrival had almost 22 million views on Instagram, against the 957 thousand registered by Mariana Mortágua, comes in second place.
