« I’m smart in the project »

Hildur Björnsdóttir, the leader of the Independence Party in Reykjavik, says he has felt a great deal of support with the Independence Party in the city recently, which a new Gallup survey reflects.

She says a large part of the city’s population wants to get the Independence Party back in the lead and she says she is « smart in the project. »

The business magazine Published tonight a survey conducted by Gallup stating that every third citizen would vote for the Independence Party if elections took place today and that the majority had fallen.

« We have sensed a great deal of support in recent months, there has been a positive rising in the surveys and of course we are extremely grateful for the support. Our speech is clearly a good background for the citizens, » says Hildur in a conversation with mbl.is.

Says great dissatisfaction with the majority

At the end of February, the Democratic Alliance, Pirates, Socialists, the People’s Party and the Left Green formed a new majority. According to the survey, the parties got only 10 city councilors elected, but 12 people need to form a majority.

Hildur believes that part of the increase can be attributed to the dissatisfaction of citizens with a new majority in the city.

« The survey shows this clear call for change, the majority falls and the unemployment and the troubles are facing everyone. It is clear that most of the citizens want the Independence Party to take the lead in the city. I am smart in the project, » she says.

Do you think there was no change with a new majority that was formed in February?

« No, I don’t think that now. We are seeing five categories of left -wing parties take over from others a fairly left -wing majority. I can’t see that there has been any great change yet, » Hildur replies.

The election campaign began

This year, two surveys have been published on the follow -up of the parties in the City of Reykjavik and the debate on civic affairs has been a lot of focus.

Elections will take place in May next year, but Hildur was nevertheless asked if she thought the election campaign was actually started.

« Yes, I would say that the election campaign was actually started and you find it in people that it is starting to extend after being able to re -election here. »
