Donald Trump does not impress that there are only two terms of office in the United States so far for a president: there are “methods” with which a third term of office could be possible.

US President Donald Trump has underpinned his possible ambitions for a third term-although the US constitution only allowed two terms. In a telephone interview with the news station led on Sunday NBC Trump said to a question: « I’m not joking ». There are « methods » with which a third term of office could be possible. The President added “Many people” wanted to make a third term.

Trump had already fan publicly with a third term in the past few months. In January he said he did not know whether he was prohibited from a new candidacy for the presidency. The « New York Times » also reported that Trump had already said in front of Congress members in November that he would probably not run again – « unless she tells me: ‘He is so good that we have to find a way’.

« Don’t have to vote »

During his presidential election campaign, Trump even said at a meeting of conservative Christians in July that they should « no longer be voted » if he won the election.

Since the adoption of the 22nd constitutional addition in 1951, it has been planned that « nobody more than two times » may be elected to the President of the United States. The Republican Congressman Andy Ogles had introduced an initiative to increase the term of office to three periods in January, but no realistic opportunities are included.

In his telephone interview with NBC, Trump also expressed angrily about Russian President Vladimir Putin because of his behavior in the negotiations on a ceasefire in Ukraine. He was « very angry and pissed off » (Pissed Off) about Putin, said Trump – and threatened Russia on the trade in oil.

The US President also confirmed his threats towards Iran. « If you don’t make a deal, there will be bombing, » said Trump. It was initially unclear whether Trump meant a possible sole US attack or a common military approach to the allied Israel in his threats.
