« I’m a fighting – but my fight is conceptual »

Tijana Arih She is an economist, a philosopher, a political advisor and founder of the Center for Political Empowerment – the Polishc. Today, he advises political parties in Slovenia, the Balkans and the European Union, and in his work he uses the Polo pop method, which helps to understand man holistically: his roles, feelings, logic and motivation.

In an interview, she thinks about the borders between counseling and commenting, the importance of ethics in politics and her attitude towards the Balkans, which, despite stereotypes, is a source of inspiration and power.

“I advise politicians. And if you advise politicians, you cannot perform at the same time as a political analyst or commentator. I see this as a basic ethical principle, ”says Tijana Arih, adding:

“If I am your advisor today at eleven – say that you are the president of the country – then in the evening I can’t sit in the most watched show and defend my views. That just doesn’t seem right for me. And that is why I find the Slovenian political space non -transparent. It should be clear who advises to whom, and then that person should not publicly comment on the decisions that they co -designed. «

Balkan warrior – for a reason

In the superfold podcast, it also touches on the personal label attributed to it by the right half of Slovenian politics: « Balkan combat ».

« I do not reject this title, neither the ‘combat’ nor ‘Balkan’. Why would you? I’m a warrior, absolutely. But my fight is not personal – it is conceptual. I fight for freedom, justice, political systems that allow critical thinking. And I fight for a place where it is possible, ”he points out.

She was born in Novi Sad, in a multicultural environment, which marked her: “As Balasevic would say – there are six churches at the same time. And this environment shaped me. Although I have not been living on that real Balkans for a long time – Slovenia is more of an EU than the Balkans – I’m not ashamed of it.  »

Balkans as a source of creativity

Although she has found herself in the western countries several times, the Balkans is still an inspiration for her: “The Balkans inspires me a lot more than Austria, Germany or Denmark. Why? Because democracy is just learning to walk there. And this is a challenge for me. When there is a change in power in a stable country, people barely detect it. In the Balkans, however, the change means the movement of the whole system – and that is exactly what inspires me to help build new ones. Those in which it can be ruled at all. «

Brodnjak did not experience a political call – but wants the role of the leader

There is no overlooked Super -Power in the Super Superview by NLB CEO Blaz Brodnjakwhich is at Delo Conference Sports 2025 set a mirror to the Slovenian government. Tijana Arih said his The address did not surprise. “This is not the first time that he left that way. If you ask me if he has experienced a political call – honestly, I think not, « he begins clearly.

In her opinion, the address was not a signal to enter politics, but something else: “I think he is aware of what people want to hear. He has good consultants and, as a man in an elite position, understands how the public works. His speech – although the theme was sports – was extremely well calibrated. Result? Huge media attention. «

At the same time, the Arih remarks that he feels that Brodnjak may be looking for a place where he could be recognized as one of the largest leaders in the country. But more in the podcast Super Superview.

It’s not easy, but it’s possible. And I enjoy it.

In the podcast, Tiana Arih also spoke about women’s empowerment, balance of power and why she believes that the work should not be hard to be effective.

“If we are passive, if we become politically numb, then others decide on our future. We do not go to the polls, we are not interested. But those who are part of the system know exactly what they are doing. And if no one asks, no one challenges them. I can say at the city council meeting what I think – and if there is no response, we all go on. This should not happen, « he warns.

In her opinion, politics is present at all times of life: “How to drive a car, how to raise children, how we marry – all this is politics. And if we don’t deal with it, politics will deal with us.  »

As one of the key moments of political awareness, he exposes the pandemic: « If it was not yet clear to us before, during Covid we felt on our own skin: whether we were allowed to go out, whether we would wear masks, when we would take a dog for a walk – all of these were political decisions. »

It therefore calls for responsibility: “Now is the time to think about how active citizens will be. What will we ask for politicians and where is the border when we say, ‘Enough. You’re going over here.  »
