In his speech, the president thanked « all the military and civilian personnel for the way he carries out his military exercises and combat missions, along with our allies and partners.
Today we pay tribute to the war veterans and commemorate all those who, over time, have given their lives in wars, defending independence and national territory, or in the conflicts in which they fought against terrorism.
We are going through a complicated period generated by the Ukraine war, which affects the security of our region, and the ground forces, together with the other forces in the Romanian army and along with our allies, have a decisive role in discouraging and defending the eastern flank.
For this, apart from the endowment programs with the means of fighting so far, we need to continue the process of modernizing the Romanian Army by the stage increase of the budget for defense and the acquisition of state -of -the -art military technique, by strengthening the national defense industry and by increasing the level of training.
A high degree of staff training can be achieved both by training in the military higher education institutions and by the military exercises carried out with our allies. The human resource is the most valuable and must be treated as such.
Through the professionalism and dedication of the military from the ground forces, Romania strengthens its status as a stability in a region strongly affected by the security crisis generated by the Russian Federation.
On the occasion of this anniversary moment, I send congratulations to the ground forces for the way they honor their military profession and wish them much success in carrying out the missions entrusted! «
