Ilic winner of veteran tournament in Quick Chess « Guild 2 »
FIDE MASTER (FM) Ljubomir Ilic (2,058 Ratin-Poten, Rangran Second Before the start), won the veteran tournament in Quick Chess « Guild 2 », which in the competition of 19 players (two FM), was held in Skopje, organized by FK at Veterans 72.
After nine rounds played at a five -minute pace plus three seconds for each player moved, starting from the first, the experienced Ilic won 7.5 points (seven wins, one draw and one defeat). Second place went to Velo Markovski (1,927, sixth) with six points, as well as the first ranked, FM Jani Bogoevski (2,170), but due to a weaker additional criterion is third. The tournament was rated and played by the rules of the World Chess Federation (FIDE), and the referee was FM Ljubomir Hadzi-Manev.
– Deserved, Ilic’s routine victory. He could not have been in this order if luck had not left Markovski, who suffered a defeat by the lesser Ile Chromov in the last round. But these are such fast -paced tuners, where it is normal for such surprises. The tournament was well organized, but this time not as massive as the previous ones, perhaps because of the holidays, but still strong. In these veterans’ tournaments, socializing is still primary, but it is also important to win. Veterans of SKV Skopje 72 to November are on a summer vacation, and we see each other in September at the accelerated chess tournament-the president of the club-organizer, Ilija Stosevski, told us.
