Black Sea coach and Bulgarian national football team Ilian Iliev will resign as a national breeder. The decision of the mentor is the result of the declaration by the President of the Bulgarian Professional Football League Atanas Karaivanov, who earlier today called Iliev to vacate his position at the head of the Three Lions. In addition, Karaivanov, who is also a member of the Executive Committee of the Bulgarian Football Union, has accused Iliev of being confused in the work of the Judicial Commission and is guilty of intrigues related to the start time of the quarterfinals for the Bulgarian Cup between the Black Sea and Levski.

« In response to the position of the President of the Bulgarian Professional Football League Atanas Karaivanov, I would like to say the following:
I am sorry that I have to respond to such lower lies and manipulative statements put into the space by Karaivanov. I believe that they undermine the prestige of the national team breeder, the Black Sea coach and the personality Ilian Iliev. I have consulted with a lawyer and will mislead this person under judgment because of offensive qualifications in my address and for all the lies aimed at manipulating the football public and to bring my name and the name of « Black Sea ».

- Ever since I took the post in the national team, not that I have no working day, on the contrary – I have not had a single day off, even in the summer. And the fact that I combine the position with the one in « Black Moreyu, is the decision of the Executive Committee, not mine.
- Concerning the declarations – I strongly state that I am not the initiator and incitement of the club positions in question, about the draw for the 1/2 -finals for the Bulgarian Cup. These are the solutions of the management of the two clubs, but I fully agree with what they have written in them.
- I have never interfered in the work of the Judicial Committee, the judges and their outfit for the championship and the Cup of Bulgaria. This has not happened in my entire career as a coach. Let one of the judges' bosses over the years tell if I have ever been confused in the refereeing and judges. I explicitly insist that the judge's committee (current and former members) go out with a position whether what Karaivanov said is true. I am adamant that Karaivanov's claims are a lie.
- Regarding the match program – only before the national team camp, I allowed myself to ask for the meetings of the teams from which the players were called in the representative team of Bulgaria, to play as early as possible. Not for anything else, but to have more time to be with the players of the camp. We all in Bulgaria know which teams arrange the program by days and hours for matches in the Efbet League.
- After the Black Sea match in Pazardzhik, I will travel to Sofia and on the first business day I will resign as a national breeder of Bulgaria. Let the BFU Executive Committee decide whether I do my job as a coach of Bulgaria and whether I can help the Bulgarian national team or Atanas Karaivanov will continue attempts to command Bulgarian football.
- Regarding my pay as a coach, I want to explain – I have never been the leading financial side in my work and I have always accepted what they offered me. Because I am not financially dependent on football. For this reason, I can afford to express and defend my position in front of everyone without fear. Unlike me, other people who are on a salary in several places when one of their masters is affected are jumping to the amplifier to protect them. «
