Il vs Pan. Differences of VICED IDEOLOGY
Inês Sousa Real and Rui Rocha expressed the ideological differences between PAN and Liberal Initiative (IL) in the television debate for the legislative elections, transmitted by SIC Notícias. Health was the first point, with taxes and safety to reach the differences.
The theme of health marked the beginning of the debate with Rui Rocha to say that “IL proposes an appreciation of health professionals, but indexed to merit and production”, pointing out that the professions should be evaluated “together”, since “a global view of public administration” is needed.
IL argues that it is the citizen who has to be at the center of health, because « who has no possibility to choose are those who have no resources and are those who are failing, creating health and second health. »
Inês Sousa Real has linked the “ideological differences” between PAN and IL, stating that liberals forget that “people do not choose to be born poor, aging or getting sick”, defending a “strong state intervention in health” and arguing with the failures of private operators in “responding to mental health or oncology”.
The PAN leader defends a health management change rather than privatization, arguing that NHS management has to be more “effective and efficient”.
Sousa Real criticizes Il for having a “idea of such a small state that fits in her pocket, but forget that the Portuguese pocket is not the same for everyone at the end of the month”. To this end, PAN also proposes to “prevent more” in the health area, for example, by promoting best food practices.
Going to the theme taxes, Inês Sousa Real argued that he argued that the PAN proposal is “very clear” and goes through a descent from IRC to 17%, with a descent of percentage points until the end of the legislature.
About the IRS, the PAN leader criticized IL’s proposal – two echelons – because « it was not going to the middle class » and because it « violates the principle of progressivity », benefiting « who receives the most. »
Rui Rocha says that IL’s IL proposal is progressive and after defending taxes again requested an “effort to the state – that controls its 1% per year expense” instead of the effort to always be asked from families. “Is there no inefficiency that allows you to cut 1% per year to alleviate families for once?” Asked the liberal leader.
Security was another topic under discussion, with Rui Rocha saying that “there is no freedom without security”, and arguing that it takes proximity police and proper policies. “The more data and facts we can drive the policies,” he explains, stressing that IL wants tasks to move to administrative technicians to release police for functions and that the party’s proposal also points to non -lethal equipment so that police can defend themselves.
In response, the leader of the ecologist party assumes the existence of a security problem in Portugal and that it « starts home with domestic violence. »
« Women are not being protected, » Pan’s leader said, saying it is a fight that argues that « it should be a priority in all debates and followed by all parties. »
Regarding the extent of these online crimes, it argues that “platforms must be required to remove images immediately”. These victims « are destroyed lives, are humiliated and with each revitimized sharing. »
Rui Rocha subscribed to concern, showing himself “shocked” with news of violence, violence in dating and violations. “We are at the time to summon everyone for a reflection on this matter,” he says, stressing that IL has in the “a health plan and the emotional dimension” program so that there are concrete methodologies to identify alerts.
