Iga Swiak, destroyed. Sabalenka and Coco, in the final

Polish IGA Swiak (5 WTA), the trophy holder, lost the semi -final Roland Garros in front of Aryna Sabalenka (1 WTA).

Belarusa qualified on Thursday, in the final of the Grand Slam tournament at Roland Garros, after a three-set victory, in the semifinals, in front of Polish, score 7-6 (7/1), 4-6, 6-0.

Sabalenka, the main favorite, imposed after almost two and a half hours of play, she managed three and making two double mistakes, the Polish having a single AS and making four double mistakes.

Arina Sabalenka, who has three high Slam titles (Openia 2023 and 2024, US Open 2024), had never passed the semifinals in the France’s capital, compared to Swiak, triple winner.

It was the 13th confrontation between the two players, but only the second in a great Slam tournament (after the US Open 2022), the Polish now leading 8-5 to the general. The last match of them took place last year at the WTA tournament in Cincinnati, in August, when Belarusa prevailed in semifinals 6-3, 6-3.

Belarusa will dispute the final with the American Coco Gauff (2 WTA, favorite no. 2), which passed in the semifinals of the revelation of the tournament, French Lois Boisson (361 WTA), score 6-1, 6-2.
