If new capacities arise, then not in Austria – Diepresse.com
The United States is an important market for the Umdasch Group, which also includes the formwork manufacturer Doka. What Trump’s tariffs mean, which new business areas attract and what the domestic cost increases are called for the company, explains Umdasch boss Wolfgang Litzlbauer.

The press: How hard do you meet Trump’s tariffs?
Wolfgang Litzlbauer: We have very ambitious goals and want to grow profitably. We do this too by relying on glocalization. We want to be strongly represented in all important centers in the world, even with local added value. The tariffs meet us because we still have no regional production in the United States. With Doka we produce in Austria and Slovakia. With AT-PAC in China, with MFE in Malaysia. The problem is not so much the tariffs, but the braking economy. The danger is that tariffs fuel the duties with inflation the interest rates. And rising interest rates are poison for the construction industry.
But the plan is to produce at some point in the USA?
