Ida-Viru Central Hospital introduces a fee for a missed reception
From June 1, a double fee for receiving at the next visit will be charged in the Ida-Viru Central Hospital if the patient did not come to the reception at the agreed time and did not notify about this at least 24 hours. The basis for the change is § 70, clause 6 of the Law on Medical Insurance, writes Rus.delfi.
Statistics of failure to appear in the Ida-Viru Central Hospital causes serious concern-on average, 14 patients do not come every working day. In the first four months of 2025, there were already 1142 cases when patients did not come to the reception.
“When the patient does not come to the reception and does not report this, the doctor’s time remains unused, thereby overloads the healthcare system and the queue for other patients is lengthened. In addition to techniques, research is often missed, which is why other needy patients do not receive help in a timely manner,” explained the head of the hospital Pille Poyuk.
“We often hear that people cannot get to the doctor, but one simple way to improve the situation is a notification. Just tell me if you can’t come,” added Poyuka.
They are asked to report the impossibility of coming by phone: 33 111 33 (Mon -Fri 08: 00–18: 00), by e -mail: [email protected], as well as through the portal of health: www.teerseportaal.eeee
