Ida Prester revealed to us: The new series ‘Winners’ taught me a few life lessons …
For years I have been meeting incredibly interesting people, who are invisible to the public. Their stories are so touching that I need to tell them to everyone, share that good energy, the presenter tells us Ida Prester. It was from that desire that the documentary series ‘Winners’ was created, whose author, who is shown on the first program of HTV since last Monday.
In six episodes, the author of Prester takes us through emotional stories about people who, despite difficult life circumstances, have chosen hope, joy and struggle. We get to know a musician who doesn’t see but see a heart, athlete dancing beyond the boundaries of the movement and young people who grew up without parents but became a role model to many.
– It all started seven years ago, when I met the Afghan Sami. He was only 15 years old when he escaped from home, I went through the whole refugee path, lived through everything, and arrived in our region. Today he has learned the language perfectly and ends the design of design. What kind of strength and persistence is hiding in people? What are we made of? Where are our borders? A lot of questions were born to me when I met the Sami. I decided to devote myself to looking for an answer – reveals Prester.

One of the stories she had the opportunity to hear and tell in ‘winners’ was her Marko Bakovic.
– Two years ago I met Mark. It works under alternative music and called me as a guest. I remember how surprised I was when I realized that Marko was blind. We are not used to such situations, we suffer people with disabilities in drawers, we have poorly involved in social and business life. Marko delighted me, besides being a journalist, he is a great drummer! – points out Ida.
Mark’s story was just the beginning. Following, others, Suzana, a blind actress of incredible talent. Ukrainian refugees, mother and son who became Croatian table tennis champions. Paula with cerebral palsy, which, according to diagnoses, was not to speak or walk, and today it is Paralympic.
– These are all people who have gone through difficult moments but have not lost their glow in their eyes. Brave fighters, characters who are not surrendered. Their positives are contagious, I hope you will recognize and feel it – he says.
Through the work on the series, she learned several life lessons, and the first of them is gratitude.
– When I talked to Afghan Sami, he told me, ‘People here are so dissatisfied, they want to leave the country. And I’m overjoyed here, I just want what you already have ‘. I shook that sentence well. We take a lot for granted, and it’s actually a privilege. The second lesson is that we never look at people with prejudice and we suffer into drawers. Someone’s disability, origin, sexual orientation … They don’t say anything about a person. We all have dreams, passions and ideas, we have to have the opportunity to discover and develop them. Regardless of identities we have not chosen. And the last lesson – we are not aware of our capabilities. With the power of will, we can do incredible things, train both mind and body. A very important focus is positive, we can learn a lot from our heroes – he points out.
Ida is more than ten years in a happy marriage with Ivan Peševski. Roka and Ri.
– I don’t have any recipe, every couple is different. I think the most important thing with us is a lot of laughter and jokes, we are both still kids in our souls. In marriage, he knows how to remain love, but disappear respect. We just make sure we don’t get hurt, but that we give a lot of space. The same rules apply to kids. Laughter, joke, but also respect for their emotions, listening and contact – the presenter points out.

It is not easy to balance between private and business life.
– There are periods when both my husband and I do so much that children are more with Did and grandmother than in our country. But so it was in my childhood, my grandmother Ana raised me, and my parents were at work. That is why when a few days off, let’s make up for everything, we pamper ourselves and kiss from morning to dark. I think Roko and Rio have a happy childhood – Ida adds.
Husband Ivan is her great support.
– He knew I had been recording something and preparing something for almost a year, but he didn’t know what specifically. He supports me according to Difolt, when I travel, keeps my children, prepare the house, prepares my wardrobe, but there is no need to mess. This is probably that trust and giving of space. We have a common, but also a lot of separate worlds and it works for us – adds the presenter.
Although they come from different cultures, John is a Belgrade, and she from Zagreb, believes that the differences are not big.
– It’s the same continent. Belgrade is a little bigger and crazy, Zagreb smaller and calmer. Both of us and the other, at what stage. In the younger days, Belgrade suited us more, and the older we are, the more we appreciate Zagreb Zen – says Ida, adding that the most beautiful thing they enjoy in both cities, and the children have two homes that truly love.
The biggest life lesson she learned and she wants to convey to her children are courage, relaxation and a positive approach to life.
– As for the future, I have no fixed plans. I let throw me away, so I catch some wave that seems interesting to me. So far, ‘winners’ are very happy to me, I can’t believe we really realized it and brought it to the end. I’m proud on my team. I hope it is a story that will take a long, long time – Ida concludes.
