Icelander in Liverpool: « We really saw everything »
An Icelander who lives in Liverpool was witnessed when a driver drove into crowds in the parade of supporters of Liverpool’s football team earlier today.
« We really saw everything, » says Ragnheiður Ísabella Viðarsdóttir in a conversation with mbl.is, but she stood and watched the celebrations out of a window at home when the car was driven into the supporter group.
« I live here right here in the corner where this happened and am here with my little siblings who are visiting me.
Saw the car stopped
She says they decided to go out but soon realized that the view was better from the apartment. They have therefore returned to watch the bus with the England champions running past.
When the bus has gone their way, Ragnheiður says that most of the supporters have followed her, but people have left little to the man.
« My siblings stop watching for a while and then I really just see people in the run away. First I see nothing from what it is running, maybe there was some fights going on or something like that but if this car stops in the middle of the street, » Ragnheiður Isabella explains: adding:
« So I see a lot of people running to the car and they hit the car and try to get the driver out. What we see next are cops from all directions running to the car. »
Let their parents immediately know
As you can understand, Ragnheiður and her siblings are in great shock, but they also followed the aftermath of the incident.
« We really saw everything. I immediately sent our parents and told that it had been an accident but that it was okay with us. Then our dad called us and I was describing to him how I saw that it was at least five people, » says Ragnheiður, adding that she believed more people.
May not go out
When a journalist talked to Ragnheiði, she was still at the window looking over the scene.
« I’m just sitting at the window now and nothing has been cleaned and everything is out in the garbage.
One British in his 60s has been arrested for the case, but it is not clear how many are injured or whether someone has died.
This is how the forum looked out when Ragnheiður Isabella talked to a journalist.
