IB-Fund « Saibus » will launch a joint educational project in Qatar

The Saiberus Foundation, which specializes in cybersecurity, launches an investment and educational project in Qatar. The partner of the fund is the Qatari Al-Did Business, working in the field of construction, IT and industry. The volume of investments of the parties in the project will depend on the final cost of the construction of the Center and the localization of educational programs.

The Russian Cybersecurity Development Fund « Saibus » together with the Qatari company Al-Did Business, which is developing IT, construction and industry in the region, entered into an agreement to open the Cyberdu project in Doha. About this “Kommersant” was told in Saiberus. The fund has already launched a similar project in Russia in 2023. Cyberd in Qatar will become a center for innovation and cooperation, which will include infrastructure for training representatives of the region, a platform for cybercies, an exhibition technology center and a startup incubator, as well as a space for international and national cybersecurity.

“In the near future, the final coordination of the technical and financial structure, as well as roles of both parties, will be completed,” says the representative of Saiberus. The size of the investment will depend on several components, including the direct construction of the center, the localization and adaptation of educational content. Al-Did Business believes that a joint project with the fund will allow us to strengthen the IB industry in Qatar and « prepare highly qualified specialists for the country. » Saiberus evaluates that the local cybersecurity market will reach $ 1.2 billion in 2025.

At the same time, for the Qatar Foundation is a “focal country in the region of the Middle East”, and the project will become a “platform for promoting Russian IB-companies in the countries of the Persian Gulf”. Other promising regions in which work is being carried out is Southeast Asia and Africa, says a representative of Saiberus. Development is planned in three directions: measurement of cyber resistance, development of a community of IB specialists and support for creating solutions for cybersecurity.

According to the RUSSOFT Association, the export indicator of the Russian IT increased by 7.2%last year, to $ 5.9 billion. At the same time, the most promising for exports are financial and solutions in the field of IB, and among the directions-the country of Africa, Latin America, the Middle East (see Kommersant on April 11). The Asia-Arab region has a sufficient mature IT infrastructure, therefore not only Qatar, but in general, the market of the Middle East and Asia is promising for Russian companies, says Fedor Dbar, commercial director of the Code of Security.

For about 15 years, Russian IT and IB companies have been trying to get out and gain a foothold in the Middle East market, Maxim Ivanov recalls the Tedo technological practice partner. But the achievements of most of them are still small: the market is quite specific and differs from the Russian one. In particular, the sales cycle there, as a rule, is much longer and is one or two years, while in the Russian market it does not exceed six months, the expert says. At the same time, strategically, access to foreign markets will allow the company to diversify the business and, with the current practice, Saiberus has a high potential to successfully work in the region, he concludes.
