I was betrayed in Kavaja, I sent more letters than I received votes. Here I am even after 20 years

The President of the Party of Freedom, Ilir Meta, does not change the view that his battle with justice is political revenge. In an interview with Report TV, he was also asked about the deeply poor result of the May 11 elections. Saying that his candidacy had no ultimate goal of obtaining his mandate, he leaves responsibility for the low representation in the coalition. « Due to the coalition, we were in function of the strategy chosen by the DP and few protagonism opportunities, » He continues. From prison, Meta demanded a recount for votes in Kavaja, as he does not believe that close friends in this municipality betrayed him. « The recount in Kavaja I asked for me that it seemed an incredible result, as there were fewer votes than the letters I had sent to my friends, many friends. »

Mr. Meta, a month ago, took place in the country, where you were a candidate on the open list. Unlike the commitment to the Tirana Convention, you failed to choose the deputies. Did you expect this result, which many calls the weakest of your political career?

It was an excellent result in the conditions of electoral terrorism and in particular against me and the Party of Freedom. The standard of this terrorism was set on October 21, 2024, when I was publicly kidnapped by thugs with narcotics masks and saw all Albanians, especially on May 11, for hours in the middle of Vora, where the CEC documents not only commanded the voting process, but also threatened the leaders and deputies.

My candidacy was not intended to become an MP, that I was guaranteed in a closed list, but although in conditions of criminal isolation I would give the message that for victory the opposition must make extreme sacrifices. Likewise, Ilir Meta does not betray Ilir Meta, that is, the cause of the open lists, which I entered on the hunger strike in the Assembly in 2008 when the treacherous changes were made to that wonderful constitution we had until then.

Remember that the short -term objective of those constitutional changes was to eliminate the SMI in the 2009 elections, while the long -term elimination of political pluralism. So I say with conviction that 8,000 heroes and not ordinary citizens have voted for me.

The result of the Freedom Party in these elections was less than 1/3 of the Socialist Movement for Integration Votes in 2021. The Democratic Party also declined compared to 4 years ago. Why did the Albanians believe more of the premier-Basha than the Meta-Berisha or they defended the votes better if we consider your vote theft charges?
It is simply a speculation because there is no serious comparative basis. In 2021, the SMI entered its logo and had 140 candidates throughout Albania. While now there was no Liberty Party logo on the voting list and we had only 4 candidates in the closed list of DP and only 8 candidates in the open list across the country and in 4 districts we had no candidate.

Likewise, because of the coalition, we were in the function of the strategy chosen by the DP and few protagonism. To better understand you, we take as an example the Korça District, where we had a candidate that is a sin to miss parliament as Dr. Gentian Çala, who received 3811 votes. He was our most voted candidate in Korça district even in 2021 even though he was not the first.

If the Party of Freedom were on its own and it would be at the top of the list, it would definitely have a rough individual result. But he would also have other candidates in the Freedom Party from other areas such as Devolli, Kolonja, Korça, Pusteci and Maliqi, who would cover their areas and the result would undoubtedly be even better than 2021.

Or in the case of Berat, if the Party of Freedom were on its own, Lefter Maliqi would receive over 5,000 votes individually, but would have greater protagonism and there would be 6 other candidates of the Freedom Party from Skrapar, Poliçani, Berat, U-Vajgurore etc. that would achieve a better result than in 2021. Because a single candidate is unable to effectively cover an entire circuit.

Ah, I forgot, in the elections we spent, the leader of the Freedom Party was arrested after a criminal abduction made to terrorize supporters of the Freedom Party and the opposition as a whole. Likewise, in 2021, in the face of the electoral violence of the narcotics, there was a republican president denouncing any act of violence against the opposition. For the leadership you spoke, we saw in this election as the Euro -Atlantic leader came out, which remained 313 the entire campaign.

How did Ilir Meta see the functioning of the opposition, setting aside your allegations of manipulation? Did PL-PD collaboration work? What didn’t work?

We are in the focus of further evidence of farce and electoral terrorism.

How did Ilir Meta see the engagement of the various figures of the Party of Freedom in the elections, did there be a ‘political betrayal’ from them? Recall that you have also talked about lists.

I cordially thank all our candidates in the open lists that made a very difficult and unequal campaign and all those who supported them to the ballot box.

Why did you seek a recount in the municipality of Kavaja? What are your doubts?

I asked the recount in Kavaja that I seemed an incredible result, as there were fewer votes than letters I had sent to friends, many friends. Simply orienting better for the future, as local elections are coming and not only the ones but the premature.

You stated in a distance interview a few days ago that the Freedom Party will run in single municipal councils. Are you so proclaiming the political ‘divorce’ with the Democratic Party? Why do such a statement two weeks after the May 11 elections and 2 years before the local ones? Who are you sending a message, at a time when your ally Berisha is saying that May 11 will be undone and in front of the premises you refer to will have general early elections?

The message is addressed only to the structures and members of the Freedom Party. We always, as a political force in my direction, have had the advantage of preparing in time for the next elections and not in the last minute. Moreover, in the conditions of a narcotics that uses any state instrument to violate and alienate the will of the citizens. This does not exclude cooperation or coalition with the DP for mayors, on the contrary. But for municipal councils, every party will compete with its logo, because fortunately, the stolen seal returned to true Democrats thankfully, unlike the last local elections.

Mr. Meta, do you think that in your party or even in the opposition in general there are individuals who can replace Sali Berisha and Ilir Meta, who have been in politics for 35 years? Two officially defendants who in the coming years will have a hot battle with justice.

Yes, we are both declared defendants by the chairman of the criminal organization from the Socialist Party Assembly on May 7, 2022. This justice, captured by Edi Rama, has turned into an anti -Oopian commissariat and has nothing to do with the rule of law nor with the law and the Constitution that the European Convention on Human Rights is not even referred to. My battle is with narcargyism and I make it very confident that its end will be close. Likewise, Rama’s efforts using his mercenaries in justice captured and accepted by him, to replace legitimate blackmailing leaders, are failed.

To dwell on the litigation initiated against you, you have considered your defendant to be taken as Edi Rama’s political order. Where is the Prime Minister’s involvement in this process?

The whole leaflet signed by the SPAK is drafted by Edi Rama, and this will be proven by the process of step -by -step trial. But not to waste too much time with this world-wide known, follow here directly the order given to the SPAK by the SP Assembly tribune on May 7, 2022.

During the reactions of these days you have spoken a lot about ‘traitors’ and stated that the first to be questioned about lobbying are two cousins ​​Endrit and Eriol Braimllari and Adrian Shatku, your ex-wife’s cousin. Thus, do you agree that in the SMI while you have run it was performed with undeclared money? Are you saying the 3 above are the real violators of the law?

I categorically exclude that during this time of my leadership, the SMI has carried out lobbying with undeclared money. It is the SPAK who has this claim that payments have been made to lobbying companies for the SMI interest. For two years I have insisted on SPAK when I was asked if there are differences between the CEC statements here with those of lobbying companies in the seeds and that according to them these payments show that they were made by America in the excellent cooperation they have with FBI, especially in Charles McGonigal’s time, to verify which these companies or companies have made. Anyone who has violated the laws must respond.

It is indisputable that during the time of my leadership, any agreement was approved at the Presidency meeting in full respect of the law and authorized a certain head to sign and follow the implementation of the contract. Of course this person could not be the mayor but a person who followed both the budget and finances.

If the SPAK turns out that I have violated any American law I am ready to go to the USA to respond to their laws that I can meet McGonigal who took the luggage in parking by his chief corruption who drafted the leaflets against me but who has blocked the letter to McGonigal, who knows all over the world. Even now that I answer you someone can register a deal in the seeds on behalf of the Freedom Party without being authorized by me or the Party of Freedom. And this has happened in the seeds as in the case of Mr. Fidetzis, who has done this which I have officially denounced in the Department of Justice and the seeds. SPAK knows this very well and has seen the letter.

If the charges are proven to you, what will be the relationship with politics?

The accusations are deeply political against me and ordered by Edi Rama. This will be proven by the trial process that they want to push as much as possible in the hope that they can collect any evidence for me here in the cell, as they did with their colleague in Durres detention. I have Albanian blood but also Patience Chinese. You are a young journalist and you will have the opportunity to interview me after 10 years, even after 20 years.
