The 39-year-old Viennese has not remained true to her soft spot for tight titles. The fourth opus is called « dreams on cement », on which it rolls great thoughts again.

« Unfortunately, I’m a strong head man, » she moans. She can only temporarily free herself from the mental load. On the one hand through music, on the other hand in the moments shortly before falling asleep. « I love the condition shortly before nod. I can let myself fall a little. This goal to the dream world, where you give up the mind, I wanted to dedicate a song to him. »

Phillippa Galli, born in 1985, called Pippa in music circles, recently went through a wave valley of feelings. At the beginning of the creative process, she was disillusioned. « My then team broke up with me. I went a way with him, have already taken three albums. And suddenly I stood there without everything. Paradoxically, I pulled great strength from this feeling of loss. And then I also found my new team. »

First and foremost, Marie Hummer, the sister of the tragically deceased Wanda keyboardist. « She is a totally focused label manager, » enthuses Pippa. « I’m very happy. » Hearable result of this mental recovery is a surprisingly rocky sound. And defiant songs like « never again ». « Yes, this song is inspired by the moment when I suddenly shot down alone and the self -doubt. It is the attempt to be mutilized. Central statement is: I don’t want to make myself dependent on the outside world. » Which of course can only be a short -term illusion if you practice an artistic profession. « That may be true, but I get my illusions back. I need such fantasies, otherwise I’ll be crazy. »

Pop is « too fixed »

Pippa is not only a singer-songwriter, but also acts as an actress. Currently in a staging of « Elektra ». Do you prefer one of the two arts? Is she maybe just a hobby musician? « No, not at all. The acting was just my first profession. Then I started the music project and deliberately said the theater for a while. I love theater, but not the circumstances under which it often happens. I just wanted to tackle the music. And now I have recorded the theater back into my life, with music it is simply not going. I played a text from someone else if I write a song.

Sales are hard work and the income from streaming is modest. Nevertheless, there are a variety of young musicians every year who try to deserve. « It is difficult to get out in Vienna alone. I have the idea that I want to achieve something with music. That sounds a little frustrated, but it helped me to deal with disappointments. Funnily enough, doors are actually opening up doors. We have airplay for the first time and give concerts there for the first time. that the pop business is a trace of youth. « I can’t change my age. I’m 39. I’m happy when I hear a Sharon van Etten or a Lana del Rey. I am interested in when women do with a certain mature pop music. I want to be like that. »

« Mind » is an all -round successful thing. It begins with the cover that Pippa shows how it hangs over the railing in the upper floors of the anniversary, sloping on a head pad. « The cover is intended to convey a touch of surrealism because the image section has been chosen so that the stairs extend into infinity. »
