I used riots in Scheveningen, police pelted

In Scheveningen, the mobile unit was deployed on Thursday evening when hundreds of young people in the vicinity of the Kurhaus went into fighting. The rioters later turned against the police and pelted the ME with stones, bicycles and glass, among other things.

A police spokesperson informed the ANP news agency that different groups had threatened each other via social media, which led to the fight. 100 to 300 young people would have come to the riots. The peace returned after midnight after the rioters were distributed, according to the spokesperson. Nobody was arrested at the riots.

A reporter from Omroep West was present at the riots in Scheveningen and reported that he had to hide because of the disturbances because it was « too dangerous » to report on the situation. « Stones, glass, sticks and water bottles went through the air. The police had a hard time, » said the reporter on X.

Richard de Mos from Hart voor The Hague, chairman of the political debate, has applied for an emergency debate about the riots. « Totally unacceptable behavior must be hard pressed. Our seaside resort and the residents there deserve our protection! » on X.
