I reach out to young people, Macedonia needs their minds to become a better state, Mickoski said

You young you are not just the future of this state-you are her strongest current heart. You are the generation that will move Macedonia forward. Not with fear, but with ideas. Not with divisions, but with unity. And that’s why I want to tell you today: stay here. Fight here. Build here. Macedonia needs your mind, from your creativity, from your restlessness that changes the world. I reach out to young people and we don’t have the luxury to fail. Your generation must succeed. This is the last chance for success-said VMRO-DPMNE Prime Minister and leader Hristijan Mickoski at the Conference of the Union of Young Forces of the party in Veles today.

Today, he added, we have battles that we have to lead ourselves, and wins that we must stand together.

-Here’s our challenge: Let us not allow Macedonia to stay stuck in old stories. To create a new story – your story. A story of success, knowledge, justice and freedom. The young of Macedonia – you are the ones who can change this country. You are the ones who will make it better. There is no force that can stop you when you believe in yourself and act together. Macedonia must succeed. And it will succeed – said Prime Minister Mickoski.

According to him, the thirty years of politicians in Macedonia have never openly and really talked about young people, what it takes to do so they are truly happy.

-But they never listened to them what they were telling us, and when many things pointed out. The biggest failure of a state occurs when the fell of youth fades, when young people are tired of long waiting to be heard and their time will never come – said Mickoski.

The fact that young people are leaving Macedonia, according to him, is not because they found a better place than their home, but because they were not heard when they spoke.

-Today, the motive for emigration from Macedonia is not only a richer life abroad, but also the desire for a better system that they do not find here. That’s why you are professors, doctors and people who are not the most important salary, but the future they do not see here, the system that has betrayed them many times before. Because their dreams were destroyed systemic and very long. Let’s look at the truth in the eyes. We have lost generations. My heart breaks apart when I see the empty benches at the faculties, the empty streets on the cities and the full buses and planes with young people leaving – said Mickoski.

This, he believes, is not a failure of a man, or just a generation that has been pursuing politics in Macedonia, but a common failure of all so far, who have not paid attention to young people who systematically with incompetence, crime and corruption have destroyed the system, which did not allow the dream to become a reality, which every desire and motive were ruining.

-The lost generations do not start the time and the non-parties they have done, and therefore when I talk about what we inherited, those who did not lead to them are not heard. But at the same time I know that the people are tired of excuses, from moving blame and avoiding responsibility for things that are mutually important – said Mickoski.

The leader of VMRO-DPMNE and Prime Minister is clear that things can only change if the fight is open and talked openly, and if the fight is jointly.

-That’s why today every step we take is to restore hope and create a system of order and responsibility. We need mobilization and a chance for every single person who wants to work honestly and show that it can be otherwise. I have never promised miracles, impossible things, but that is why I will fight for every single person and the common future. And we have to change the system and restore hope – said Mickoski.

But, as he points out, he does not only call on young people to hope but to engage, fight, to correct, because « no one will give us the future of the tray, we will have to build it ourselves, brick by brick, struggle after struggle, day after day. »
