I prefer government consisting of four games

The elected president, Nicușor Dan, welcomes the fact that the PSD does not exclude the participation in government and reiterates that he wants an executive in which all four pro-Western parties will be represented.

‘It is good news that PSD does not exclude participation in government with the other pro-Western parties. I would like to get to a negotiation. A minority government is a solution, but it is always a discussion with the Parliament on the measures it wants to take, which it proposes to the Parliament. I would like all four pro-Western parties to assume a government, « Nicușor Dan said on Tuesday on Pro TV.

He reiterated that he would like the prime minister’s position to return to Ilie Bolojan, but mentioned that this depends on how the negotiations will take place.

Nicușor Dan said that there is a ‘extremely low’ chance for a technocratic government, because the executive will be ‘with a great probability’.

‘I would like to consist of four pro-Western parties, supported by minorities. If it does not happen, the second variant also a political government is. Minority, also supported by the pro-Western forces in the Parliament. I prefer the first variant, ‘said the president elected.

He pointed out that there are already informal discussions about the future government, but that at this moment the main problem ‘is the budget deficit. Discussions with parties will take place from the end of this week or early next week. Nicușor Dan said he will also meet with the representatives of Gold, Pot or SOS, as the Constitution provides.

The interim president of the PSD, Sorin Grindeanu, said on Tuesday that he had received an open negotiating warrant. However, he mentioned that the majority opinion in the party seems to support the variant of a ‘constructive’ opposition.

Asked if, in his opinion, the PSD should continue in government or enter the opposition, he said: ‘I think that this was the main discussion at our meeting. I do not hide that the opinion that seems to be majority at this time in the PSD is to have a constructive opposition.

‘I know – and I know from within the government – that there is a period of decisions that must be supported. The future government must have support, and the PSD will provide this support for rational and logical and good solutions for Romanians, regardless of the position we will have. But my colleagues gave me an open mandate in the sense of having discussions not if we enter, necessarily, in government or if we support, but to see what the others want, those who convey that they want to build a pro-European majority and then come to the Romanians, « Grindeanu said.
