I never served any other state
The leader of Gold, George Simion, a candidate for the presidential elections, said on Friday that Victor Ponta, his counter-candidate, « lied » when he stated that he went to ‘remove’ from the Republic of Moldova because they ‘asked some Romanian structures’.
‘He lied, as he lied when he spoke about the floods from Dinescu, from Cetate (no Mircea Dinescu). I was countless times forbidden in the Republic of Moldova, for my unionist activity, for my Romanian activity (…). I received these prohibitions, the first time I was arrested in 2009 by Vladimir Voronin, and the last time by Igor Dodon, the Prous Igor Dodon. So those who try in this election campaign to spin the same brown with Russian agents, to think, that it will not work, « said Simion, at a press conference at the Parliament Palace.
As for the presidential elections, he said that a new cancellation is no longer possible, because the system has failed, they do not have the necessary reasons’.
‘I don’t think a new election cancellation is possible. The system failed, the system showed its face, we are beyond the chapter of a functional democracy or in the process of becoming functional, we are a hybrid regime. (…) I had in all my public activity a transparent benefit, I clarified each chapter of the actions I made public, I never served any other state, be it from the west or from the east. That attempt to stress them with Russian agents has failed since last year, when they received an official letter from the Government – which was often more important than the Government of Romania -, from the Government of Ukraine and it was shown that my activity in Ukraine was strictly to defend the Romanians from Transcarpathia, from Cernăuți, and no. Gold.
Asked how he comments on the fact that he does not receive a public support signal from Călin Georgescu, George Simion said he was in permanent contact with him.
« We are in permanent contact with Mr. Călin Georgescu, the moment when Toma will hear some famous words, » Simion replied.
