“I didn’t reach the top. I was afraid. But I would really like”: teenagers in Narva found new entertainment

In Tiktok, Narva adolescents are increasingly appearing a video in which they safely run around abandoned buildings of the city, dance in them or disassemble things left there: letters, cards, posters, clothes. Often this is shooting from roofs of houses or stairs that can fall under the feet of young people at any time. Here are sneakers – and here is a view from a height or, for example, a charred step. Next to these videos you can read the enthusiastic comments of other Tiktok users, a lot of questions, experienced advice. “It was here, the steps right with you to curl …”, “Climb into the former building of the infectious disease, it is near the dark garden.” Rusdelfi He took comments from the police and the city council.

“Calls that one of the adolescents climbed on the territory of an abandoned house or object in Narve is quite frequent is the specifics of our region where there are quite a lot of such buildings,” the police comment.

One of the video, shot on the roof of an abandoned building in the city center on Cosmonaudi Street, was removed from a local account. But soon there were videos that can only be made on the roof of the former city bath on Keres, 27 or from the upper tier of the former water tower at the station.

When the Center for Alarm receives a call about the stay of people in an abandoned building, first of all its experts assess the level of threat. During the call, the exact location of the incident is specified. A person receiving a call asks to describe in detail the situation in order to evaluate a possible threat to the life or health of people.

“Unfortunately, 80% of parents do not know where and how their children spend their free time. And even when the patrol brings home a minor who has done something, parents do not believe to the last that their child could do something like this: to break, steal and so on,” says the head of the police officers Kalmer Janet. A child will break or damage some kind of thing, and the owner of the property will decide to compensate for his damage, then the material obligations will fall on the shoulders of the parents. «

The fear is also caused by the fact that the video attracts the attention of other adolescents and such a pastime becomes popular among young people in Narva.
