« Two weddings at Everest’s base camp-we wrote history!
The ceremony took place on the Khumbu glacier, 5360 meters, and the Buddhist monk of the base camp put together the couples. My dear friend, head of the base camp, and two experienced Everest expedition Sherpa and a local mountain leader were great help in the organization.
Our tour had lasted eight days ago when the penultimate station, Gorak Shep’s tea house, had already started celebrations – music, dance, laughter. From here, a 2.5 -hour walk led to the base camp, which the bridal people with a smile on his face, tirelessly. It didn’t matter that we hadn’t bathed for a week – only the experience mattered.
The two parties were put together during a Buddhist ceremony, and with a little Hindu blessing, we made the experience even more colorful. Then throw a bouquet and a little music-dance party. The bridal people consisted of Hungarians and Nepalers – and everyone successfully reached the base camp.
Congratulations to the two wonderful couples: Kriszta & Gergő (from Ócsa) and Bogi & Attila (from Transylvania).
It is likely that there will still be a wedding in the base camp, as it will be possible to organize this experience with a lifetime adventure – and honestly? I loved every minute of it « – read in the post.
