Huge theft. Over one million euros in a home
Two men from Suceava County were detained, being suspected of theft of over one million euros in a home in the area of Milișăuți, representatives of the County Police Inspectorate (IPJ) announced on Sunday.
The robbed house is of a public notary, and the stolen amount would be 1.4 million euros, according to the local press.
The two individuals, 35 and 36, from Rădăuți municipality, would have entered, with covered faces and gloves, in the house of a 67 -year -old man from the city of Milișăuți and would have stolen the money.
Theft took place on March 17, when the victim notified the police.
« Although the authors have taken a series of measures to provide their protection and make it difficult to investigate (they acted with covered faces, used gloves, disconnected the electricity system, traveled on side access paths without video monitoring, spun the location for a long time, etc.) Action and proof of the criminal activity (…) During this period the evaluation of the investigative and criminal investigation activities has been done daily, correlating and corrosuring the data and information obtained in dynamics, highlighting solid tracks that eventually led to the identification and catching of persons suspected of committing the deed ”, IPJ said.
During Friday, the police in Suceava, under the coordination of the prosecutors of the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Suceava Court of Appeal, carried out seven searches for housing and locations used by the two persons suspected of committing the facts.
Subsequently, the police continued the investigative and monitoring activities, obtaining data on the fact that the two men suspected of committing theft intends to leave the country, trying to evade the research and to ensure their escape.
Under these conditions, the police intensified the specific activities and constituted road filters, on the evening of March 28, the car in which the two men were being located and spotted in the DN 17 area, on the radius of Vama commune, a crew performing a regulatory stop signal. The driver of the vehicle did not comply with the signal, continuing to travel in speed and trying to escape on the side roads, but on a forest road in the area could not continue to travel due to the rough terrain. Immediately, the two occupants abandoned the vehicle and fled to the wooded area.
Several search teams were set up and acted concentically by gradually restricting the search area, at the same time arranged all the safety and security measures for the police involved, managing to find the two men, who were hidden in the forest fund. The two were handcuffed and taken over by policemen without incident, not necessary to use the force or armament, submitting to the policemen.
