The nutritional value of the lamb

Like all the red meat, LAMB It is relatively rich in calories and high in saturated fat, which is known to be unhealthy. Therefore, it must be consumed in moderation. But this meat has less saturated fat than beef and pork and, for the most part, contains stearic acid, a type of saturated fat less harmful.

How to remove the smell of lamb

When cooked, the lamb emits a specific smell that does not like everyone. But it can be eliminated. To get rid of the smell or to significantly reduce intensity, here are some tips:

  • Soak the meat in water with a small amount of 9% vinegar: one tablespoon of water is sufficient. After two or three hours, rinse the meat with a lot of water.

  • Marinated in red or white wine at least two hours;

  • Generously grease the piece of meat with mustard, wrap it in food foil and place it for an hour. Then rinse well with water;

  • Soak the piece of meat you want to cook in chefir for at least three hours;

  • Soak in mineral water for 10-12 hours;

  • Remove all fat from meat including veins. This is the one that gives that very specific aroma.

Recipe for Lamb in the oven

ingredients

Lamb pulp in front 1 pcs. = 1500 g

Rosemary 2 twigs = 8 g

Thyme / thyme 2 twigs = 2 g

Garlic 25 g (or more, if you like more aromatic)

60 ml olive oil = 60 g

Method of preparation

Step 1. Prepare all ingredients.

Step 2. Separate the thyme and rosemary leaves from the stems and chop. Clean and chop the garlic. Mix the olive oil with garlic, thyme, rosemary, salt and pepper. If you want, add more spices to the marinade, such as oregano, pepper or dry pepper, for added flavor.

Step 3. rub the lamb with the resulting mixture and leave for 20 minutes. Preheat the oven to 180 ° C and prepare foil.

Step 4. Wrap the lamb in foil and place it in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.

Step 5. Remove the foil and bake for another 30 minutes. If you like better, leave in the oven by checking from time to time.
