How the Kremlin looks at Trump's America
Russia's state television has found his new superstar in US President Donald Trump. For years, the media controlled by the Kremlin were in anti-American agitation, commentators dreamed of transforming Washington into radioactive ashes with a view to the US help for Ukraine against the Russian attack war. Now Dmitri Kisseljow, one of the most important opinion makers in the country, is pleased that Trump not only missed the Ukrainian President Wolodymyr Selenskyj in front of running cameras in the White House, but also picks up Kremlin positions.
Kisseljow already raves about the « big troika » with Russia, China and the USA for a new world order. Europe is written off. The Americans are the new best friends of the Russians – at least for the moment. The U -turn that Trump puts on when he emphasizes that he trusts Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin has also turned the tone in Moscow.
Expert: Russia set to every development
Moscow sees himself at eye level with Washington and asserts how Trump also ends up an end to the war. Trump's meeting has been talking to Putin for weeks-possibly in Saudi Arabia. But an appointment is not in sight. « This will be a long haggling in which Moscow adjusts to any outcome – from limited agreements to the complete setting of the dialogue and even escalation, » says Russian political scientist Tatjana Stanowaja.

The Russian troops have intensified their advance, which has been striking for months. Putin takes advantage of this to conquer even more Ukrainian territory, says the Institute for War Studies (ISW) in Washington. The Ukrainians have long suffered the heaviest Russian air strikes with many dead and injured, which experts also attribute to the new US course under Trump.
Ukraine talks in Saudi Arabia
After Trump's most recently distributed calls to Selenskyj that he should finally face peace negotiations, the Americans start talks with the Ukrainians in Saudi Arabia this Tuesday. The US specialist Steve Witkoff said in advance that it was about setting a framework for a peace agreement and a first ceasefire.
Selenskyj's negotiator Andrij Jermak strives for a fire break in the air and at sea as well as a stop of the attacks on civilian and the energy infrastructure – as the first steps. Selenskyj also emphasizes that there were now concrete suggestions on the table. In the end, there must be a fair and permanent peace – including security guarantees for Ukraine.
In spite of everything, Russia is still bulky
In Moscow, the Ukrainian demands continue to encounter resistance. Kiev wanted to win time so that the front does not collapse, says the spokeswoman for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Sacharova. A fire break wanted to use Ukraine to strengthen their military skills with the help of the western allies and to reorganize troops and then take revenge. In the end there is a « new piral violent ». « This is absolutely unacceptable, » says Sacharova.
Moscow also criticizes that the EU does not want to contribute to the solution of the conflict, but rather continue the war with arms deliveries and armament. In the past debates, Ukraine also always pointed out that the Russians could also collect new forces with an armed ceasefire.
Russian newspaper sees scope for negotiations
The moderate Russian daily « Nesawissimaja Gaseta » points out that Putin is ready to compromise, but also insisted on many positions that are hardly acceptable for Kiev. Moscow will never allow NATO accession to Ukraine or do without the occupied areas in the east and south of Ukraine.
Trump's rapid rapprochement with Putin triggers great concerns
However, editor -in -chief Konstantin Remtschukov believes that Moscow, given the lossy fights, does without a complete conquest of the areas of Saporischschja and Cherson that were previously only partially occupied. The parts occupied there could then be merged into a structure under the name Noworossija. « A change in the constitution is not a problem, » he wrote with a view to the salon debates in Moscow.
Remtschukow notes that despite the current euphoria about the US course, the Russians would very well know that all agreements with Trump only have a « tactical and temporary character » because the majority of Europeans and half of the Americans are convinced that the time of the US president was over in four years. Moscow also understands that Trump primarily wanted to drive a wedge between the neighbors Russia and China. The distrust of Trump remains great.
Russia strives for sanctions
One of the most important topics in the negotiations on the Ukraine conflict of the Russians is the elimination of at least some of the 16,000 sanctions of the West. Putin emphasized several times that the sanctions had released forces in many areas and made Russia stronger. Nevertheless, he admits that they slow down the economic development.
Talks have long been about discussions between the Russian entrepreneurial association and the American Chamber of Commerce Amcham on the resumption of economic relationships. The Amcham boss in Moscow, Robert Ageee, told the business newspaper « RBK » that the main sanctions that US companies themselves had had to fall. In addition to the resumption of air traffic, Agee wants to be connected to the Swift financial communication system again.
Trump plays out international trust in the United States
The US companies have lost more than $ 300 billion from the Russian market since their departure from the Russian market, according to Moscow. Russia's economy now attracts the Americans. Putin offered Trump access to raw materials such as rare earths.
Economic expert Alexandra Prokopenko does not expect a big restart for the US companies in Russia. Putin will continue to see the United States and the West as the main opponent, she wrote in an analysis of the US thinking factory Carnegie. « The vengeance of the Russian leader, his fixation on thoughts that the West repeatedly deceived it, and the lack of any reluctance in his own country will sooner or later drive the next escalation. »
