How the 80th anniversary of Zhirinovsky will celebrate in the Russian Federation
The memory of the founder of the LDPR Vladimir Zhirinovsky will be immortalized with the help of personalized trains, a museum in the center of Moscow, the Russian Ball, exhibitions, as well as the publication of his works and biography. On May 14, these and other ideas were discussed by members of the Organizing Committee of the Organizing Committee for the preparation and celebration of the 80th anniversary of the late policy.
The first meeting of the organizing committee, created in November 2024 by Decree of President Vladimir Putin, was held on December 10 at VDNH in the fields of the anniversary exhibition « LDPR: 35 years with the people » and was devoted mainly to organizational issues. At the second meeting on May 14, it was decided to discuss the specific plans of the anniversary, for which, in particular, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko, Minister of Culture Olga Lyubimova, the head of the Ministry of Education and Science, Valery Falkov, the Minister of Education Sergey Kravtsov, the head of the Ministry of Finance Anton Siluanov, the Minister of Transport, Roman Starovoit, arrived in the column hall of the House of Unions.
The chairman of the organizing committee, the State Duma speaker Vyacheslav Volodin reminded the audience that Vladimir Zhirinovsky « did a lot to create a party-political system of our state. » Therefore, it is important that the memory of him to live and be passed on from generation to generation, because “only then we will fulfill our duty to a person who did a lot for the Russian state,” added Mr. Volodin. This goal will be, for example, the opening of the Zhirinovsky Museum in the historical headquarters of the LDPR in Lukovo Lane.
In turn, Dmitry Chernyshenko proposed creating a commission in the State Duma that could analyze and select the journalistic works of Mr. Zhirinovsky for the publication of the « anniversary collection of works. » The release of the biography of the liberal democrat in 2026: its author, as the president of the Russian Book Union Sergei Stepashin, will be its author, will be the writer Oleg Roy.
Mr. Chernyshenko also promised that the anniversary celebrations « will be realized with the participation of a large number of authorities. »
These will include, for example, the Ministry of Culture, Education and Science, Education, Digital Development, Transport, Foreign Affairs, as well as Rosmolodezh and other departments. In total, 56 commemorative events are planned for 2025–2026.
The chairman of the LDPR and the deputy head of the organizing committee Leonid Slutsky spoke more about some points of this plan. So, on the Sokolnichesky line of the Moscow Metro in the second half of 2026, it is supposed to launch a branded train dedicated to the anniversary, and another “personalized” train will run from December 25, 2025 to December 25, 2026 along the Moscow -Adler -Moscow route. In the metropolitan arena, from April 11 to 26 next year, the Jubilee exhibition “Zhirinovsky Forever” will be held, every day of the work of which will be thematically connected with the life and forecasts of politics. On April 25, 2026, the day of the 80th anniversary of Vladimir Zhirinovsky, Russian Ball is planned with the participation of students and cadets.
Mr. Slutsky said that he invited President Vladimir Putin to one of the events on the day of the anniversary, without specifying which one.
Also, according to the leader of the LDPR, in April 2026 a number of anniversary projects focused on students and youth starts. For example, open lectures “Zhirinovsky School” will be held at universities, the Internet project “Zhirinovsky-founder of the LDPR” will be launched. And in the Alma Mater, the policy of Moscow State University will be held a conference on human rights in the modern world. At the same time, as Leonid Slutsky emphasized, in all information formats, the organizers will rely on the performances and forecasts of Mr. Zhirinovsky about the “Ukrainian crisis”, and veterans and volunteers of Svo will be invited as guests and speakers.
