How EISI experts discussed the historical role of « Russian civilization »
The will to win in a special military operation (SV), as once in the Great Patriotic War, provides the « special civilization code of Russia. » Such a conclusion was reached on May 15 by participants in an expert institution of social research (EISI) of a round table on the topic “Great Victory as our main symbol”. At the same time, the fundamental principles of “Russia as civilization” formulated by participants in the event are divided not only in the presidential administration and in “United Russia”, but also in opposition parties.
For the role of the “shot” of the round table, his moderator Political scientist Pavel Danilin was proposed by the acting governor of the Kursk region Alexander Khinshtein. In his video message, he said that for his region the victory in the Great Patriotic War became the guarantor of the victories of today, because the grandchildren of those who freed the Kursk land from the Nazis more than 80 years ago, do this today.
The idea of continuing patriotism was warmly supported by the participant of Sv, the deputy governor of the Kaluga region, Alexander Shlyapnikov, who stated that the fighters of his own “descendants of the winners” of the Great Patriotic War today “are becoming the head of the administration of our country”.
Political scientist Vladimir Shapovalov undertook to reveal the deep essence of this continuity. The thing is, he explained that Russia has a “special civilization code”, which was formed by “centuries of Russian history” and eventually helped win in the Great Patriotic War. The basis of this code (or “a set of unwritten principles”) is patriotism, service to the state, collectivism and collegiality. It is no accident that Mr. Shapovalov recalled, Joseph Stalin in July 1941 addressed the citizens of the USSR with the words “brothers and sisters”, emphasizing the significance of the unity of peoples. This provided the « endless mobilization potential of Soviet society. » Russia continues to fulfill its “historical mission to protect the world from Nazism”, and Russia continues.
It should be noted that the concept presented by Vladimir Shapovalov completely coincides with the ideas of the head of the presidential department for monitoring and analyzing the social processes of Alexander Kharichev. Recently, he once again outlined them in the article “Civilization“ Russia ”” for the publication “Notepad of Civil Enlightenment”. The formation of “Russian civilization” Mr. Kharichev explains it with geographical and natural-climatic conditions, natural wealth and the need to defend himself from enemies. Hence the “unique historical mission” of Russia, the function of the “bridge”, and sometimes (in the case of conflicts) and the “barrier” between the West and the East.
In addition, its “ethnic diversity” helped the formation of “Russian civilization”, due to which the “collective type of being” arose in Russia, the official noted.
Other participants in the round table of EISI agreed with this approach. For example, a professor at the Department of State Policy of Moscow State University named after Lomonosov Vardan Baghdasaryan also expressed confidence that « we are developing the concept of Russia as a state-owned state. » He also emphasized that the Great Patriotic War was “civilizational” and became the “basis of identity”, since just before its beginning the concept of multinational Soviet people appeared.
It is worth noting that both representatives of the main Russian parties adhere to similar ideas about both his and the role of Russia as a whole. So, the deputy head of the United Russia faction in the State Duma, Andrei Isaev, recently spoke of Russia as the “immune system”, which “stops strange ideologies”, including those trying to capture world domination. The chairman of the LDPR Leonid Slutsky has repeatedly expressed the opinion that it was his party that was the first to speak about the « Russian world and civilization », and highlighted his « great historical role of Russia as the Savior of the world. » And the leader of the Communist Party, Gennady Zyuganov, after the beginning of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, stated that « we are saving Russian civilization. »
