How climate change in particular affects Austria – Diepresse.com



Heat waves and heavy ribbons, risky consequences for health system, agriculture and society. A comprehensive scientific report shows the effects of climate change, especially in Austria. Climatologist Harald Rieder explains what politics can do now.

AUSTRO AUSTOMER HAILS HAIR: AUSTOR HOUSE OF 3.1 degrees compared to the pre -industrial age – more than twice as strong as in the rest of the world. In the next few decades, Austria could even head to an increase of over four degrees – a scenario for which we are not sufficiently prepared.

The “Second Austrian Testic Notifice on Climate Change” presented on Tuesday shows Austria -specific effects and consequences of climate change in full scope. However, it also shows which options for action the politics still has: forward -looking political decisions are still possible, which could keep later consequences and damage within limits.

The meteorologist and climateologist Harald Rieder from the Boku Vienna As one of the main authors, has participated in the comprehensive scientific report. In this episode, he tells for which extreme weather events Austria has to be better armed, what legal framework conditions it still needs this legislative period and what effective climate policy inhibits especially in Austria.
