How citizens evaluated the public, gov.gr and municipalities

A vote of confidence in public digital services and the « reforms we did », as the Kyriakos MitsotakisCitizens gave the results of the first State evaluation presented at a special event at the Maximus Palace.

On the contrary, there were plenty of complaints about their municipalities and services with emphasis on the state of the roads and sidewalks, while the lower ratings were taken by the building services.

The evaluation will continue

For the first time, citizens were given the opportunity to evaluate state services and the service he has in his daily life and from central services, the prime minister initially reminded his speech.

« Our goal will be better and better with 65,000 to take part in the biggest poll for the State ever. A mirror of the reality that the citizen is experiencing and not as we imagine it, ”he added.

« Now it is up to us the results to be transformed into actions that improve the services and the mayors themselves. As evidenced by the data presented, we do not have particular geographical differences in the evaluation, there are special issues that concern areas such as the road network on the islands. Very interesting is Lesvos’ grading where it appeared how a project can change the treatment of citizens. We were told what we suspected of delays in cadastralization, bureaucracy for seasonal workers’ residence. On the other hand, positively horizontal intergeneration across the country is positively evaluated by Gov.gr, which has been closed for 5 years of operation. It is a vote of confidence in the initiative we took while I also mark the positive response to the electronic ticket. The image in transport is mixed. Interesting are what the citizens themselves say about municipal services. The mayors must be concerned. « 

The prime minister made a special reference to the local building services saying that he is concerned about adding that the license system has reached the limits and needs change.

Wanting to include in a phrase the result of the research said « something is changing in the public, there are obstacles to decades that need to be addressed. »

At the same time, he sent a message that « those who deny the evaluation refuse to be held accountable to the citizens », stressing that the measurement is needed to have evaluation.

On the occasion of the results of the investigation, the prime minister also referred to the initiative to revise Article 103 to remove the permanence of civil servants, saying that « yes, in the extreme cases where an employee does not long to respond to his goals ».

He announced that the evaluation would continue in critical areas with the first in the health field as citizens will be able to say their opinion with the hospital.

« It is important to remember that the state can be changed. EFKA remembers how it was, DBA has taken progress, I don’t talk about AADE. All of this did not happen by accident or easily. We looked in the mirror with courage, we saw things we like and things we don’t like and in the next assessment to have more citizens, ”concluded Kyriakos Mitsotakis

Public Assessment: 65,000 participated

According to Interior Minister Theodoros Lebanese, 65,000 citizens participated in the evaluation process.

Of the municipalities evaluated, for 184 the sample was deemed sufficient with the first municipality of Athens and followed by Thessaloniki and Heraklion.

Services with most ratings

Referring to the average terms of the six state services for which the citizens were asked, Mr Lebanios said that AADE is at 6.1, EFKA at 5.3, the employment service at 5.6, the National Land Registry 4.9, the Foreign Departments of 4.4 and specifically for the Metropolitan Commanders.

For the four public digital services, he said that AADE got 7.5, 6.1 the National Land Registry, 8.5 electronic prescription and 7.6 Myhealth.

Referring to gov.gr he said, among other things, that in its five years of operation it offers 2,176 services while 8,704,165 citizens have made at least one responsible statement. For the services of gov.gr he said that nine gathered very high ratings, for example 9 was assessed by the responsible statement, and with 8.8 the criminal record.

Speaking about the services that had the lowest score, Mr. Lebanese spoke of geographical criteria, and areas where there is a delay in cadastralization or pending such as East Attica. The Aliens’ Departments are of interest, as he said, that where there is a need for seasonal staff, and in particular areas of high tourism development and with the need for land workers, for example Ilia, Dodecanese, the lower ratings are observed and the direct correlation of the workload is confirmed. He also stressed that wherever the subway is increased, satisfaction is increased, and where there are no fixed track means, there is greater discomfort.

The 23 responsibilities were scored near or under the basis of services such as the state of the road network, the cleanliness, the parking problem, the building services.

Especially for the state of the road network, the lower ratings were given to Corfu and Preveza.

At the municipal level the « gold » for electronic services was Glyfada and in cleanliness Kastoria

Argos Orestiko took first place for infrastructure in elementary, gymnasiums and kindergartens.

In terms of parking, the highest rating was taken by Tyrnavos, in the construction services of Killer and the Greek Municipal Transportation and Ierapetra Municipal Police.

Citizens have also called for the digitization of social safety, health and insurance services while demanding better roads, better sidewalks, more recycling.
