When life turns out from its most relentless side, there are few sorrows that surpass the loss of a child.
For many, the funeral itself becomes an important and emotional goodbye – a last gesture that can give a bit of peace in the unbearable.
But for reality star Whitney Purvis, even the moment was derived from chaotic circumstances that have led to new and bitter conflict.

Whitney Purvis became known for her participation in the first season of the MTV series ’16 and Pregnant ‘, where viewers followed her youth pregnancy and the birth of son Weston Gasa Jr.
The death of the now 16-year-old son in early June left her in public grief.
But the grief had to take another dramatic turn as Whitney – according to several media – ended up missing out on the funeral itself.
Come too late for the funeral
According to more information, Whitney Purvis met up to the son’s funeral two hours after the ceremony had officially begun.
It was reportedly 16 when she arrived even though the event started at 2pm.
She was therefore denied access to the chapel where the doors had already been locked.
A source close to Whitney claims she had deliberately been informed at the wrong time and was not on the guest list – something that, if true, points to internal conflicts in the family.
Conflicting explanations
However, Whitney Purvis’ former partner and father of the deceased, who also had full custody, has another version.
He explains that he had personally contacted Whitney a week before the funeral to give her the right information – and that her name appeared in the guest list.
He has since shared a picture of the guest list, where her name is clearly stated, as a disprove on the claim of exclusion.
Their son was found lifeless in his bed early in the morning and later died in the hospital.
An autopsy has determined that the cause of death was natural.
