Housing building permits increased in early 2025.

The permits for the construction of new residential buildings, as well as the dwellings in them and their unfolded area, increase in the first quarter of 2025. The largest number of permits for the construction of residential buildings were issued in Plovdiv and Sofia, according to the data of the National Statistical Institute.

A total of the permits issued by the local administrations are for 2084 residential buildings. A diary in the registers of the National Statistical Institute shows that for the last so many building permits in the first quarter, they were issued in 2008.

The homes in them will be 10 576, which is again the highest value for the first quarter since 2008. The total built -up area is intended to be 1 302 121 sq.m.

On an annual basis, permits increased by 14.3%, and compared to the last quarter of last year – by 8.8%. The dwellings in them grow minimally on an annual basis – by 0.8%, and on a three -month -old – by 7.3%. The area unfolded – by 8.2% per year and 18% on a quarterly basis.

What is being built

In the first quarter of 2025, the construction of 1431 residential buildings began, which is the largest volume for the first quarter, since the National Statistical Institute has data, namely 2010 they will collect 6090 dwellings in them with 738 912 square meters of built-up area.

On an annual basis, residential buildings are 3% more, and on a three -month -old they decrease by 7%. The number of dwellings under construction is nearly 30% less than the last three months of 2024, and on an annual basis they shrink by one third. The expanded built -up area decreased by 22.8% to both annual and three -month base.

Construction of the largest number of residential buildings began in Plovdiv – 289, and Sofia – 195 residential, followed by Sofia -region with 158 and Burgas – 126 residential.
