Tams companies are under the pressure of a hard competition because a group of Chinese companies tries to establish humanoid robots – especially after Chinese President Xi Jinping has declared this year that robotics and new technologies have a top priority.

Great pressure

The company based in Shenzhen lost more than 1.1 billion yuan (135 million euros) last year and its shares in Hong Kong gave around 45 percent in the past twelve months. However, the intensive competition helps Chinese companies to become more efficient, said Tam.

« The strong competition exerts great pressure on a single company, but helps the entire industry to maintain good companies and to eliminate badly, » said Chief Brand Officer.

According to Tam, UbTech wants to deliver around 1,000 robots this year.
