Hospital « Evangelism »: How did the sabotage

The martyrdom of the heat will be experienced for at least 48 hours (except positive unexpected) patients, relatives and staff of the country’s largest hospital, « Evangelism ». The cause of the damage caused to the air conditioning units, with the leadership of the Ministry of Health and the hospital administration complaining that they have been caused by a human hand.

After all, the deliberate (as they all show) … a short circuit that has shut down the refrigerant systems of the « flagship » of the NHS made yesterday by the Minister of Health, Adonis Georgiadis himself, in a post on social media, referring to a lucrative. « Unknown the cables of the central air conditioner obviously in the face of heat … Get your own conclusions alone, » he wrote.

At the same time, as he himself made known, the hospital administrator has already filed a lawsuit against anyone responsible, while a investigation is being conducted by the Athens Criminal Prosecution and Deletion.

It is noteworthy, however, that the minister’s posts were also accompanied by photographic material showing the installation cables, while the information wants the damage to be extensive and half a hospital is left without cooling systems. And all this while today and tomorrow the meteorological forecasts want the thermometer to climb downtown Athens up to 35 degrees Celsius.

However, the evolving … mystery, which raises reasonable questions, are the statements of POEDIN President Michalis Giannakou on the Mega television station, expressing questions about how someone managed to remove 200 meters of cable and leave the hospital.

In fact, and according to the same sources, the biggest problem is found in the building where patients are in more serious condition. Indicatively, it is reported that the 8th floor of the same building houses surgical clinics, on the 7th floor of orthopedics and on the 6th floor Urological Clinics. Correspondingly, the 5th floor is, inter alia, the thoracic surgery clinic while patients with cardiac problems are hospitalized on the 4th floor.

For the story, the same building houses the Intensive Care Units (ICUs), but technical work are being carried out, while ground floor areas are renovated to welcome the new Emergency Department (ICT).

In any case, and as Mr Georgiadis pledged yesterday, the damage will have been repaired within 48 hours, admitting that « patients will suffer for two days ». And he concludes: « What can I say? Really shame. I hope the authorities identify them and be arrested. « 

Meanwhile, a harsh announcement was issued yesterday afternoon by the Hospital Workers’ Association. Among other things, they point out that it is worth noting how someone had access to the terrace, even knowing that the central units of the air conditioning are there, « without knowing the plans of the building ». And call on the authorities to investigate the case in depth.

In addition, they emphasize that in any case, « a problem with air conditioning exists every year in » Evangelism « (but also in all hospitals), with serious consequences ». They refer to units that do not work and have not been maintained in time, resulting in damage and suffocating conditions for patients and workers.
